Partnership Plan

LESSON 1

Introduction

Purpose of This Step: To understand what the Partnership Plan is, why it matters, and how it works—so you can confidently use it to build visibility for Medina McKelvey’s thought leaders (like Alex and Chantelle) through podcast interviews, speaking gigs, trainings, and more.

This isn’t about waiting for opportunities to come to us—it’s about creating them.

What Is the Partnership Plan?

The Partnership Plan is an 8-step, repeatable process designed to get Medina McKelvey’s attorneys in front of the right audiences—on stages, in interviews, on podcasts, and inside key professional networks. It’s built for high-impact visibility that builds trust, reinforces our brand positioning, and transforms our legal expertise into platforms for influence.

This plan is especially suited for:

  • Local and regional speaking opportunities
  • Podcast, webinar, and other virtual guest appearances
  • Strategic collaborations with HR organizations or industry influencers

Important: This process is not designed for submitting proposals to high-profile national conferences (like SHRM National) that require a formal Request for Proposals—though it could certainly support those efforts. It’s built to proactively create our own opportunities through thoughtful outreach and personal connections.

Why It Matters

  • Increases visibility and brand awareness among our ideal clients and referral partners
  • Builds credibility and thought leadership for Medina McKelvey’s partners
  • Positions the firm as a leading voice on California employment law and workplace transformation
  • Generates leverageable marketing assets such as recordings, endorsements, and social proof

Overview of the 8 Steps

  1. Brainstorm Partners – Identify people or platforms that already have the attention of our ideal audience.
  2. Identify and Tier – Organize potential partners based on how well we know them.
  3. Get on Their Radar – Engage with them meaningfully before making a direct ask.
  4. Connection Messages – Send a value-forward, low-pressure message to initiate the conversation.
  5. Brainstorm Promotions – Explore ways we could add value to their audience.
  6. Connection Call – Have a focused conversation to align on goals and next steps.
  7. Serve Them – Choose the best-fit idea and confirm the collaboration.
  8. Track Everything – Keep detailed records of outreach, responses, follow-ups, and results.
